Developing leaders while strengthening learning in school communities

The Fellowship exists to meet real needs in public schools today, while developing leaders shaped by on-the-ground experience in teaching and community partnership. This combination builds leaders who can carry that grounded perspective into broader work across public education.

Redesigned to reach more learners and drive community-wide outcomes

To respond to the evolving school and nationwide challenges in the education sector, shifting candidate profiles, and the urgency for broader, faster results, the Fellowship is being redesigned to help Fellows reach more learners and drive sustainable, population-level outcomes. The redesigned model gives Fellows earlier runway to build and scale school-based programs with local partners.

Who are we looking for in the Fellowship

The Fellowship is for people ready to teach in public schools, work closely with communities, and help strengthen learning and local education efforts while growing as leaders.

  • Mission-aligned, grounded in service and respect
  • Collaborative, builds trust with students, colleagues, and partners
  • Takes initiative, follows through, and keeps improving
  • Acts with integrity and kindness, especially in ambiguity
  • Learns fast, listens deeply, adapts to context

Local governments supported

Remembering the educational plight during the onset of COVID-19 pandemic, the Fellows were not hindered by the said pandemic. Instead, they continue the implementation of their mandate which is to provide support in terms of bridging the education gap and advocating functional literacy and socio-emotional learning to learners. These Fellows were courageous enough to hurdle all instructional demands under the blended learning of the Basic-Education Continuity Plan (BE-LCP) of the Department in the midst of health crises.
